Richard Phillips Feynman (1918 – 1988) was an American theoretical physicist. Feynman is regarded as one of the great scientists and physicists of the 20th century. He worked on the Manhattan Project and won a Nobel Prize in Physics for his work on quantum mechanics.

He was also a much loved lecturer in undergraduate physics – with the famous Feynman Technique (a way of improving one’s understanding of a topic) being named after his creative learning and teaching methods.
