Marie Antoinette (born 1755 – 1793) was the last Queen of France before the French Revolution. She was born an Archduchess of Austria and was the youngest daughter of Empress Maria Theresa and Emperor Francis I of Holy Roman Empire, and the sister of two Holy Roman Emperors: Joseph II and Leopold II.
She became the Queen of France and Navarre when her husband ascended the throne in 1774 as Louis XVI until his reign ended during the French Revolution. She is associated with the decline of moral authority.
